Auriculotherapy & Reflexology

Ear Seeds & Acupressure

A needle-free complementary option, also known as auriculotherapy.

Small, smooth natural seeds or hypoallergenic micro-pellets are carefully placed on specific reflex points of the outer ear using gentle adhesive patches. By applying mild, continuous acupressure, ear seeds offer a non-invasive way to support full-body calm and ease.

The Method

What is ear seeding?

The outer ear (the auricle) contains a dense network of nerve endings connected to the central nervous system, including the vagus nerve and branches of the cranial nerves. In traditional Chinese medicine and modern European auriculotherapy protocols, the ear functions as a microsystem reflecting the entire body.

Rather than using acupuncture needles, ear seeding uses tiny vaccaria seeds, stainless steel, or 24k gold-plated micro-beads secured with a small piece of skin-safe tape. Once placed, they exert gentle, sustained pressure on targeted reflex points. Clients can gently press the seeds throughout the day to activate the points as desired.

100% Needle-Free

No skin puncture, no blood, and completely non-invasive. Suitable for those sensitive to needles.

Discreet & Comfortable

Secured with skin-toned or clear adhesive tapes that remain in place during showers and daily routines.

Gentle Daily Reset

Provides a tangible tactile reminder to pause, breathe deeply, and encourage muscular and nervous system relaxation.

The Experience

What an appointment involves

Sessions are gentle, peaceful, and tailored to your personal goals for calm, restorative balance, and facial comfort.

Stage 1

Consultation & Cleansing

Allison discusses your current wellness focus (such as stress ease, sleep environment, or jaw tension) and gently cleanses the outer ear with an alcohol swab to prepare the skin.

Stage 2

Point Selection & Placement

Using gentle palpation, Allison identifies active reflex points on the ear. Using precision tweezers, small seeds on adhesive patches are placed smoothly against the skin.

Stage 3

Guidance & Care

You will be shown how to gently stimulate the points with light fingertip pressure and guided on how long to wear them before gently peeling the tape off at home.

Standalone offering or integrated alongside therapy

Ear seeding can be explored on its own or discussed as a complementary addition to your myofunctional therapy program. Allison can explain the approach and whether it may be suitable for you.

Exploring on its own

Ideal if you are seeking a quiet, needle-free wellness ritual for relaxation, body awareness, and gentle acupressure support.

Combined with Myofunctional Therapy

Can be incorporated during therapy phases where facial muscle relaxation, clenching awareness, or nervous system regulation supports exercise retention.

Suitability & Questions

Suitability and skin sensitivity

What you should know about adhesives, skin types, and responsible care.

What if I have sensitive skin or adhesive allergies?

Please inform Allison beforehand. We use medical-grade, latex-free tapes, and hypoallergenic options are available. If you experience irritation, redness, or itching at any point, simply peel the patch off and wash the area with mild soap and water.

Does ear seeding hurt?

Application is generally completely painless. You may feel a brief sensation of warmth, tingling, or mild tenderness when a specific reflex point is pressed, which is a common response as the area responds to pressure.

Can children receive ear seeds?

Yes, because ear seeds are needle-free and non-invasive, older children often enjoy them as a calming tactile aid. Suitability for younger children is discussed directly with parents during consultation.
